What is Now TV?

Now TV is an online subscription-based streaming service that allows viewers to watch Sky programming without paying for a Sky TV contract, or even owning a TV set. Sounds good, right? Since you have to be signed up to Sky in order to access Sky Go, Sky’s streaming service, Now TV is the best alternative because you can get set up in a matter of minutes, start streaming content instantly on multiple devices, you’re not beholden to any long-term contracts, and you can cancel your subscription at any time.

How much does Now TV cost?

Now TV offers different “passes” as opposed to a one-service-fits-all subscription like that of rivals, Netflix. There’s a Sky Cinema Pass for the film buffs in our midst, an Entertainment Pass for TV show addicts, and a number of other packages, all tailored to suit your tastes and pockets.

You can even mix and match the passes if you’re struggling to decide. Certain passes are also available for purchase at varying lengths of time ranging from a single day and up to six months. Below is a list of all the different passes Now TV offers with their prices per month.

Entertainment Pass - £7.99 Sky Cinema Pass - £11.99 Sky Sports Pass - £33.99, but daily and weekly passes are cheaper Kids Pass - £3.99 Hayu Pass - £3.99

New customers receive a seven-day free trial when they sign up. Even though you need to fill your card details when setting up your account, you’ll be able to disable your account before payment kicks in provided it's before the seven-day window. This gives you enough time to decide if the service is right for you.

What devices does Now TV work on?

Now TV’s programs and apps can be downloaded onto a total of six devices but you can only stream content on any two of these devices simultaneously. The service works with a range of compatible devices

Laptops and computers

Smartphones

Tablets

Games consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4)

Smart devices (TV’s, Blu-ray players, Chromecast, Roku Streaming Stick, etc)

Alternatively, you can purchase a Now TV Smart Stick or Now TV Smart Box. Smart sticks start at £14.99 or there’s the bundle option that includes the Smart Stick and Now TV pass. You can swap in any of the different passes when purchasing your bundle.

How to watch Now TV abroad?

Many popular streaming and subscription services are notorious for geo-blocking their services, and Now TV is no different. If you’re abroad and searching for a solution to this frustrating problem, then a good VPN service is the only thing that will come to your rescue.

VPNs offer users complete privacy whilst browsing online through a number of methods. Your user logs won’t be stored and your search history and connection will be encrypted to make all your online activity virtually untraceable.

By tunnelling your connection through different countries and changing your IP address, a VPN tricks your device into thinking you’re in an entirely different country. So, for example, you could be holidaying in the US and still watch UK content.

This allows you to bypass geo-restrictions and therefore continue watching your favourite movies, TV shows and even live sports as if you were browsing from your couch at home. While there are tons of different VPN services, there’s only one we can confidently say will help you unblock Now TV when you’re abroad...

ExpressVPN : It’s the fastest and most secure of all the VPNs we’ve tested, having undergone an independent audit to prove that they don’t store any user data whatsoever. You can use it on five devices at the same time and there’s 24/7 online customer support and a generous 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee if you’re unhappy for whatever reason. Our readers get three months free when they subscribe to the one-year plan, saving you a massive 49%!
